Contract Manufacturing
Ponting Engineering has been involved in UK product manufacturing and product assembly for over four decades. We offer a full sub contract product manufacturing and product design service. We have particular experience in the product assembly of mid to high value specialist quality consumer goods and are proud to be involved in the manufacture of “Made in UK” products. We also manufacture sub assemblies for many companies.
We have experience and expertise in the manufacturing and assembly of products using such materials as aluminium, wood, Corian, leather, carbon fibre as well as plastics and metal. We can manufacture products in small numbers through to medium volume orders. All assembled products are manufactured to an extremely high standard with quality workmanship. Many products are exported throughout the world direct from our factory.
Product Assembly Process
After an initial consultation we will provide a quote detailing the assembly process and costings. We are happy to offer a product design consultancy if your product is not quite ready for manufacturing or needs a few tweaks.
Please provide any assembly instructions you have and any particular manufacturing instructions. We will assemble a small initial batch to ensure timings and assembly instructions are correct and then review the production process prior to full production.
We can purchase your electronic and non electronic components or you can supply the components to us. We have close links with packaging companies and can offer advice and quotes on custom packaging for your products. Once the product has been manufactured and tested we are happy to deliver direct to you or your customer.
We maintain excellent relationships with electronic component suppliers and can often procure components at very favourable rates. We also have long established relationships with metal work companies and injection moulding companies. Computer components can also be procured at discounted rates direct from manufacturers.
UK Based Manufacturing
All manufacturing, rework, testing, packing and shipping is undertaken from our UK based factory. We are proud to be involved in the manufacture of “Made in UK” electronic and non electronic products. Whilst we support UK manufacturing we recognise manufacturing in the UK can never match the costs of manufacturing low value products in China. With this is mind we are focused on the UK manufacturing of higher value products. Unfortunately low value products with slim profit margins cannot be manufactured cost effectively here in the UK.
